Monolith is seeking an Event Operations Senior Technician who has a passion for live events, audio-visual experiences, team management, and a commitment to program excellence. The ideal candidate is a technical wizard that thrives on ‘getting things working’.
Joining our Event Operations team supporting Meta, the ideal candidate will be part of the Event Operations team in market that provides end-to-end event production including technical coordination, presentation setup and support, AV/VC services, streaming, and management.
The ideal candidate should have strong problem solving skills, cross spectrum technical production knowledge, exposure to installed audio-visual systems, and project management with a background in executing Events, both live and virtual.
Due to the fast-paced support, constantly changing environment, the Lead may be required to work some weekends and evenings to ensure the team is able to support operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain Facebook’s professional AVL equipment, with the ability to execute engineering requirements as the show demands.
Act as Lead Operator for most events, providing technical brief and cue list to crew as necessary.
Reports to Event Operations Lead.
Assist with pulling, staging & strike of AV equipment as necessary.
Able to perform advance troubleshooting as needed and escalate as necessary with the proper diagnostics and information.
Take on tasks in special projects as outlined by Supervisor and executes them within agreed timeline.
Reviews current equipment and provide feedback on workflow etc.
Identify system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.
Conducts weekly preventative maintenance across the venue to ensure equipment serviceability.
Oversees team's efforts to ensure all entries and schedules are updated on the technicians’ calendars.
Oversee works with “flex labor” vendor managers to meet event and customer expectations and needs.
Assist to create and executes technical plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Owns the technical support lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout planning and delivery.
Manages technical resources within allocated budget and client support schedule.
Suggest improvement to internal processes along with possible solutions.
Point of contact for other technical xFN for collaboration and/or troubleshooting.
Main driver to develop Technical SOPs for the venue.
Develop clear documentation to educate teams on best practices and mitigating risk in our operational environment.
Provide consultation on technical setup for high priority and high risk events across the region.
Develop as an SME within a particular field.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of working knowledge with audio visual equipment in a live event setting, demonstrating proficiency across audio, video, lighting and projection disciplines.
Strong technical operation knowledge to support Live Events across the AVL spectrum, with cross discipline expertise.
Experience with technical challenges and problem solving needs in an event production environment.
Familiarity with virtual event platforms, functionality and execution of events both live and virtual.
Able to read and understand AV system diagrams and processes significant knowledge of technical event support system architectures
Ability to take direction well.
Understanding various live events formats and how to execute them flawlessly.
Video conferencing and Streaming experience a huge plus.
Enjoys working in a team-oriented environment and is highly motivated and communicative.
Excellent interpersonal skills, wit the ability to build relationships and collaborate within a diverse, cross-functional team.
Able to communicate difficult and sensitive information tactfully.
Self-starter, demonstrates ability to adapt and being open to learning.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, diverse & demanding environment and copes well under pressure.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook & Google Suite and/or other business applications.
